whatever happened to starcraft: ghost?

So with all this talk about SC2 whatever happened to ghost? Looking at SC:ghost planet the last interview/preview they announced was in 04...04! Hot damn, did they cancel it? Am I missing something here?

It was cancelled indefinatly. There are rumors of 360/PS3/Vista release, but I think its just gone. We have SC2 now.

I've never heard them use the word "cancelled". "Indefinitely postponed" was the term, I believe.

We'll see Ghost at some point in the future, I'm sure. It's a wicked concept and a spin-off from the RTS series that's guaranteed not to suck (for the simple reason that Blizzard won't allow it to). But with the endless delays, the previous fallout with Nihilistic, and the aging platforms cusping on the next generation of consoles, it just wasn't worthwhile to continue development at the time. So they're tucking it away for a later day.

I imagine we'll see it perhaps in the third or last quarter of the 360's lifespan.

Yeah, the stopped it due to issues they kept having with everything changing/couldn't get it done in time. That's OK. This has been said about a lot of things, but I'd rather them take their time and make it one of the best games ever, instead of rushing it out.

Though, I can't deny numerous nights laying in my bed, thinking of Nova, and touching myself.

During a presentation at DICE 2/7/2008 in Las Vegas, Blizzard shared a slide with a list of cancelled projects which did not include StarCraft: Ghost. When asked about the situation, Blizzard co-founder and senior VP Frank Pearce responded: ?Yeah, we?re still in denial about that one.?

In 2007, a trailer for Starcraft Ghost was featured on the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade special edition DVD which came with the Burning Crusade collectors edition pack.

and from what i gather from a podcast i listen to (either joystiq or 1upyours) they didnt stop it just for development reasons, blizz thought it had some pretty poor gameplay.

and that says alot coming from people that make an mmorpg. . .

Definitely canceled indefinitely. I remember going when I saw it on the WC3 disc. Waited.
And Waited.
Got bored, found other games to wait for. It still looks kickass...
