Whats a Promo code please help

Im trying to join something called arms lab ment to be something for halflife 2, anyway it says promo code for one of the joining bits e.g password
Is a promo code the code from my box the cd key?
Please help.

I'm guessing that this site sends out promo, or 'promotional' codes so that only people who see them can join.

I dont know what the promo code is, but you dont need to enter it to register.
DamnI registered too and I still can't sign in..

The promo code is optional anyway - my guess is that there will be some charge to play this game once it gets past beta, so the promo code may get you some discount.
