What's causing this lighting glitch?

I've been working on this map for awhile... and everytime i fix one of these another pops up... there's jsut entire Textures are BLACK and the onyl tiem thier not Black is when you shoot them and that nanosecond of gun fire light makes it visible... thne it's black again...
and then there's this problem:

and before ya ask, yeah, its a Mario themed level

I'm thinking of just turning all shadows off... but that affects the shadows of the next map too... so I'm lost
 
check that the textures you used don't have "prop" or "model" in their name. If they do, change them to regular textures.

nope, all the pipes are clones of each other, and none of them have this problem... thats why I'm so confused
 
have you tried building the cubemaps? (assuming that you put them in your map)
 
if there is a small hole in the wall it will also cause this problem (i dont think it has to leak, just a gap)...maybe...happened to me and i think that was the prob
