Whats the difference between HDTV "Panels?"

The panel is the actual lcd screen itself, i.e. just the bit that shows the picture. Sony panels are top notch, but you do tend to pay for the privilege, whilst the LG panels are slightly more budget orientated, but i seem to remember from what i've read that they are not bad screens at all. So, it all depends what you would rather have, the best image quality possible, or slightly more screen real estate ? It's really a question of personal preference ?

edit: Just noticed that the LG screen doesn't appear to have a component input. Both screens have 2 HDMI inputs and D-Sub inputs for a PC, but the LG doesn't have a component input. So depending on the manner in which you are planning to connect your 360, you might want to take that into account.

Id prefer the 37" as im not that fussed about uber quality pic, as lonmg as its HD thats all that matters. Ive seen this:

This has componant inputs (u can downlaod the manual), but it doesnt lok as good as the other LG. What do you think?

I prefer the other LG to that one in an aesthetic sense. That one has a component input, but sacrifices one of the hdmi inputs. It depends on how you wish to connect your 360, via vga or component ?

Is VGA the normal non-HD way?

I want HD Componant. Whihc TV should I go for?

Component is the most widely used HD input i would imagine. VGA is the PC D-sub input that was replaced by DVI. Both work, both have different benefits. Component usually gives more vivid colours, whilst VGA can give a slightly sharper picture, but the colours can look more washed out. I use component myself, and the picture is superb, and i prefer it over VGA (which i also have the cable for). If you wanted component then the original LG you posted would be of no use, as it doesn't seem to have component inputs.

I think this will suffice for my xbox 360, DVD player and Freeview box. Does anyone know what this HDTV is like?
