I'm looking for a song.
The band is from Germany and I'm not sure what the name is but the name sounds like "RatSmith"-I didn't hear the name very well when I heard it on the radio. It's called the Shadow and it begins with some female vocalization shouting," Oh oh!" and shouts it a few times.

well the most popular german band known in america is Rammstein. I've never heard the song you are talking about though...

But i would look up Rammstein, i'm sure that's the band you are thinking of. It sounds kinda similar to "ratsmith"...

Rammstein doesn't have females going OH OH OH OHOHOHOHOH!

the only rammstein song with femail voices i remember is engel, then again i've only heard one rammstein cd, but yea.....rammstein/ratsmith; i see the resemblance

The Rasmus - In The Shadows

(as tredoslop said)

They are German? That's getting deleted straight away.

ah, ok. I've only heard maybe 15 rammstein songs, and i figured they might have a song like that. But i don't know of too many Deutsch bands, so i was just half-guessing. And the similarities in what you thought you heard, 'ratsmith,' and rammstein, ya know...?

But you seem to have found your band, so... hooray! :)

is anyone here from germany? b/c i gotta ask; i heard that rammstein was more popular in america than in germany

Yeah i heard that too, i think it is more popular here, but i could be wrong...

i love rammstein but i think it's kinda ridiculous that the majority of their fans don't even understand what the world "zwitter" means, and that's one of their more popular songs

Du Hast is by far their most popular, it's the song that defined them in North America. It's still one of their best.

Edit: I've always woundered what Zwitter means...

let me enlighten you.....it roughly translates to 'hermaphrodite", and trust me i am not at all kidding

Rammstein are a lot more popular in Europe than in the US. And Sai, what do you expect from a band that has a dead foetus as one of their album covers? :P

And The Rasmus annoy me. That isn't a female doing those "oh oh" bits, that's the vocalist.

Rammstein is awesome, but if you don't understand the lyrics you ought to look some translations up.
They're not what you'd expect. :)

One thing to remember is that the English versions of the songs 'Du Hast' and 'Engel' are not direct translations of the original German. In fact, they were badass-ified to appear to American audiences. :P
