What's your best fps?

I just built my computer, and want to get a gauge of how good my framerate is. Tests show 104fps for HL2, running dual GeForce 6600GT cards. Anyone else have a fps #'s for comparison?

35 in HL2. 32 mb video card, 256 ram, 1.7ghz CPU

130 in HL2, 128mb vc (I was looking at a very dark wall :p)

300fps. My monitor caught fire :( Nah just joking, 60fps all the time as I use v-sync to avoid tearing :D

EDIT with HL2 Specs: 1280x1024 All on high except wine is set to reflect world and not all, 2xAA and 2xAF

What resolution/quality settings did you use? FPS is meaningless without that info. :D
For all we know you could have ran it at 640x480 with AA/AF off, settings on low, 16bit color and in performance mode instead of quality. (obviously you didn't)
Did you do the Stress Test or did you run your own benchmark?

Hmmm... I used the highest possible resolution, and I ran the test through some Steam utility... I'm sort of new to this, as you can tell... :)

Go download 3DMark 2005 from a nearby server, and share what you score.

:naughty: About 200 FPS when everything is set to low.

Here, do this.
Open Counter-Strike:Source. Go to settings and try to set your settings similar to mine that way it will be comparable to other scores.
Go to Stress Test.

Example:
1280x960
AA OFF
AF Trilinear
Detail/Shaders HIGH
Reflect ALL

134 FPS

System:
Athlon 64 3000+ @2.4GHz (SKT 754)
1GB DDR400
6800GT AGP 256MB

Was that your highest reachable FPS, or your average?

My highest reachable in the test was 200, amazingly. But, my average FPS was 121 FPS

I've got x800 Pro
Pentium 4 @ 3.2C
1GB DDR400

I have a 6800gt i get 50-60 fps with 1024 768 everything high, vsync on

Average that the window says at the end.

Vsync will limit you to 60 FPS (assuming your monitor refresh rate is 60Hertz). Vsync is good while playing but for benchmarking i would disable it.

1600x1200 AA/AF and everything maxed right?! hehe
=p

Haha, nah I wish. I photoshopped that image. I get about 150ish at 1280x1024 with 8xS TR SSAA and 16xAF and of course the rest on high settings.

CSS Video Stress Test: 100.7x

Just over 100 :)

EDIT: Forgot specs and settings:

All High including AA and AF at 1280x1024 or w/e

x850xt
64 4000+
1 gig of Corsair XMS

lol i got 20fps.... when the pc was being wierd. i got like 50-70ish with pc settings sorted. i got 1-4fps in game (css) when pc was being wierd... and 40-60 in game once it was sorted. not bad for integrated graphics! will be getting my x700pro soon to replace my integrated card til i get a better card.

I beat you :D

1280X1024
AA 4X
AF 16X
Everything high as possible:

178 FPS.

System:
Pentium 3.2GHz
2GB PC3200
Radeon X850XT 256MB

Those X850XT's really cook in HL2 don't they?! Would be nice to have a highend ATI card for HL2. ;)

there is a certian threshold that it doesnt matter how much more fps you get because your eyes cant phsyically see the difference! :) 178 for teh win!

Although for most of us the Monitor (refresh rate) is the limiting factor (if we have high frame rate).

i have a quick question, rather than starting a new thread. how will my new setup run HL2, what kind of performance increase am i looking at? i havent played it properly yet seeing as im still waiting for the card to arrive:

3.2ghz P4
1024mb ram PC2700 DDR333 (2x 512)
radeon X700
intel 8 channel integrated sound card (erk) is it worth using this or should i go back to my old 4 channel sound blaster audigy soundcard? (i only have 4.1 speakers anyway)

in comparison to:

1.2ghz athlon xp
512mb ram PC2700
geforce 4 mx 440
sound blaster audigy sound card

thanks alot!

You should be able to run at pretty much max settings with 80-90+ FPS.

no way! thats gunna be so sweet! dont dissapoint me!!!

Hey,
How on earth do I test my PC#s capabilities on HL2?? Is there a console command??

go on counterstrike source and on the menu press video stress test :)

1337 FPS in HL2 with 2500x2500 resolution and 32x AA 64x AF, all other graphics settings maxed out.

The best I've ever reached was 300 FPS :D Well, I have to admit that was when I binded a funny slow-motion button which adjusts host_timescale and phys_timescale. My usual fps is around 30-35. Good enough for me. ( In fact, anything over 25 is smooth for me, as I played with inadequate hardware for years, until I got a job [ monneh! ] )

Radeon X700
AAX2 trilinear, everything on max, 1024 res
in game 50-120 fps

stress test 90 something or another
