I took my driving theory test today and i passed it! :D
Got 33/35 on the multiple choice questions. (30 is a pass)
Got 60/75 on the hazard perception test (44 is a pass)
I'm so happy right now :D One step closer to drving on my own. Shame the practical tests costs so much £48.50 to be precise! What a rip off.

Anyway, to give this thread a purpose other then to let that out. Did you guys pass first time? What were your scores? :)

<3

Heh, I remember failing my first driving test because it was drizzly and I didn't have the windshield wipers on. That b*tch.

34/35 on multiple, booyah. Hazard... I'm not saying anything about that.

Driving test here is an actual test where the instructor gets in your car makes you drive around town and if you mess up at all you fail.

I got everything to do with my car and motorcycle licenses on the first try
The only thing I barely passed was the car driving part (What rt was talking about)
Ive never driven a car on a regular basis so i sucked

I'll be 17 in November. Then I can start the journey towards driving on my own. My friend who is just about to take his practical, passed the theory with 100%. The bastard.

Yeah, that's what happens here. Before you can do that, however, you have to take the multiple-choice question test and the hazard perception test.

The practical sounds a bit nerve-racking. Hopefully I'll pass first time cause I dont wanna fork out fifty quid twice D:

Damn beat me by one... Come on, what happened in your HP? :P

Thats our practical test. We have a theory then we can do our practical. Though we can make minor mistakes, we dont just outright fail by mistakes, unless we put anyone or ourselves in danger.

I got 100% on my driving theory test :)

On my practical i got 5 minors ...........3 of those were not my fault however.

Well, it's not that bad, but I got 47 which is close. The videos are so obvious, I kept clicking before the hazard actually happened.

Kinda like ours.

See, if you're 15 1/2 years old, you can take the Driver's PERMIT test. Which is like 30 questions or so and if you pass you get your permit, which means you can only drive with a licensed driver as a passenger with you.

After you have your permit for 6 months, you can do the driving test.

Still passed though. The scores aint on the certificate so they dont really matter.

And did you find that the driver in the HP test drove so slow? :P

Interesting. You can drive as a learner as soon as you turn 17, so long as it's with an instructor or someone over 21 with a full lisence for 3 years. Also, the theory is only there as a barrier between your final test - it's not compulsory to drive at all. This effectively means that quick learners can learn and pass fully within a month or two.

Heh, I think they had to no matter what - there's a guy sitting on the roof with a camera. You can see it in the shadows on some of them.

I passed my test first time with 13 (!) minor faults. I thought I'd failed on the way out of the test centre, because I straddled the white lines at the first junction. Because of that, I just drove in a thoroughly pissed-off state and ended up passing :)

I kind of ruined all that by getting banned a week later though...

Damn you have to wait until you're 17 to drive there?
Yeah, it's odd considering other laws are a little more relaxed compared to the US.

I think restricting us from driving until we're 17 is a good thing. Especially with the youths we have these days in this country. All the chavs are bad enough when they get their little scooters at 16... i'd hate to think how bad they would be driving a car at 15 D:

Isn't the theoretical limit somewhere near 16?

I haven't taken a drivers test in about 2 years, I am glad I never have to take a written test ever again, I hated it.

I got 34/35 on the multiple choice questions and 65/75 on the hazard perception test.

I then failed 2 practicals then finally passed on my third one. Its nice being able to drive.

Well heres a question for you.

Tell me something you must not do on a road with at least one solid white line down the centre:

1) Overtake
2) Park

Overtake, duh.

BUT if you have a dashed line on your side of the road and they have a solid line on the other side, only you may overtake... yes?

in america yes. I don't know about the UK though.

I think I got a 100 on my written test and I screwed up on my driving test because I accidentally turned left when he said right ;(

I got my permit when I was 14. Same time I got my first car.

Laws might just be different where you live, or they changed sometime in the last 9 years. *shrug*

The laws have always been the same round here as far as I know.

I hate driving lessons now, hate being told where to go and all that. Booking my practical for sometime after July 10th. Can't wait to be able to drive where and when i like :)

The written and driving test were cake.:smoking:

It's really surprising to hear that there's a handful of people that don't drive yet.

The driving tests here, both written and physical, are frighteningly easy.

But you don't have to wait until you're 21 to drink :P

Where do you live? The tests in Britain are really hard :P they're the one of the strictest internationally

Yeah but no one follows that. Wheras you HAVE to follow driving with a license because the penalties are a lot stiffer :P

Age of consent is 16 :naughty:

I will take my learners test in 7 months so I will let you know then lol. But congrats!
