remember in the beginning when you get transported from the lab, then to breen's office, then in the water and whatnot? I think they used the old model of the ichthyosaur for a REASON. Maybe you were breifly tranported into the past?
After all, you DID go a week into the future...

if your perception of time is changed in such a way that a week feels like only a few seconds, i think that could be considered jumping a week ahead. i wish i could do that when i'm at work.
