Please for the love of God, the Search Button is there for a reason.

The game gets unlocked at 7pm Melbourne time, but stores won't be open then, so the earliest you can buy it at EB SHOULD be the 17th.

However, that's not to say that some stores haven't already broken the street date.

nah mate i went around a couple of stores in melbourne including gamerush and EB and there all realseing it first thing 2mrow.

Unlocked 4pm Perth time (stores still open). But VU have set the release for the 17th.

From what the EB guy was telling me "...big fines if released early...but if it is released early by another store, then they'll be calling up all their pre-order customers...."

i know..this sucks-if valve open the authorization at 6/7 pm on tuesday, why the hell dont they jsut sell the game on frickin tuesday? i wanted to play it same time as everyone else...now i have to wait a bleeping 12-15 hours later than anyone else to buy.
Plus the guy at EB called me to tell me that my preorder was in but i have to buy it tommorow. Then when i went to the shop and ask if i could get it today, they denied me because of the "street date". This f#$%ing sucks....Period!!! by the way the gamespot review of hl2 was sh#t.

I tried reasoning with my EB, but they said that big fines are involved.

So I have come to the conclusion that developers should jump aboard the 'Steam' train and get their games out that way. Cut out the Distributors who have no idea about game fans.

Can't do much about it now. Unless someone can bribe a store to start selling it early :naughty:

Yep, the Gamespot HL2 Review was shit. I didn't get it from EB, but I have to wait until Wednesday afternoon. I'm picking it up, getting on the bus and rushing home.

EDIT: I preordered the Collectors Edition and it comes with Raising the Bar, not the Strategy Guide.
