Is your mouse plugged into the USB slot? If so try waking it by pressing a keyboard button.

yeah my mouse is in a usb port , and i did try to press buttons on my keyboard.

hmm, I dont know, might be fixable in BIOS but I cant remember every option in there.

(you probably would have got this answered already if you posted in the hardware forum btw ;) I'm sure the mods will move it soon so dont start a new one there)

Erm... I think standby shuts off power to all USB ports - every time my puter resumes from standby the scanner re-initialises itself (plugged into a usb port)

My mouse (M$ intellimouse optical) is plugged into the PS2 port though (using a USB to PS2 adapter) so it's on even during standby. Not that my PC is in standby much, its on all day and off all night :)

i have the same mouse as you, plugged into the usb port (kb is usb too) and i can come back from standy with a mouse click. it must have something to do with the mobo.

what motherboard are you using silent? try searching for your mobo + "standby" and "mouse" in google and see if it anyone else has had the same prob and posted in a forum or something.

Try going into Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Your Mouse > Right click that icon and select properties and then goto Power Management and uncheck the option where it asks if the computer can shut the power off.

If there isn't one, or its grayed out, RTFM :)
