When in hl2 game closes

When in hl2 ill be playing (random times) I'll be playing and ill hear the windows error sound (usualy comes with a popup) But when i get to my desktop theres no error,hl2 just closes. Its happened like 3 times..this happen to anyone else?

I have the same problem. I believe it has to do with onboard/crappy sound hardware, as that is the recurring theme in the problem.

Try getting new 4-in-1 drivers or sound card drivers, try unchecking advanced sound options, and try removing any sound codec packs you have.
