Just wondering..planning on upgrading to a PCI express mobo, with an x800 pro (PEG), ddr2, and an athlon 64. Any idea when ddr2 and pci express are due?
PCI express will be coming out soon. Within the next three/four of months you should start seeing some slowly come out. I imagine it will be next year before PCI express mb's are manufactured with any volume.
DDR2 on the other hand, is a little bit vague. Intel would like for it to be in full force by the end of the year but production capacity wise, it is not possible. Plus DDR2 will have a higher latency and be more expensive to purchase. Also, AMD isn't really sold on DDR2 yet either. So it is really up in the air what is going on with DDR2.
If you want both DDR2 and PCI Express on the same mb, you will probably have to wait till next year.
