Does anyone by any chance know when the next DX10 cards are going to come out? The 8800 has been out for a while now and they have some pritty dam amazing cards but its been a while since I looked into it. I ask because a friend of mine is wanting a new graphics card and has asked me to get him one. I have the responsability of making the right choice :p If I'm right the 8800s are better than the ATI counter part?

If the 8800s are better than the ATI cards how long do you think it will be before Nvidia releases there new GPU, in the UK :p

Maybe a couple models will get released Nov. and then the rest early 2008.
idk

there isnt really any valid info of new cards being released. its mostly all rumors over the internet. feel free to wait if your friend doesn't mind; if not then go for the 8800.

in the same boat: i've heard the 2900 pro is actually better than the 8800gts(if that's the flavor you're looking at) because of its ability to easily overclock. i don't know if i should wait. will there be a mainstream card released in nov? i'm not spending $600 on a new video card. i would like to get the newest high-mid range card (ala 8800gts) but is nvidia releasing that soon?

Enjoy some rumors.
"AMD put R600 on a 55nm diet that shred more than 100W TDP - now the RV670 in its fastest form will eat around 120W less than fastest R600-based boards. As you might have guessed it, RV670 should feature all 320 superscalar shader units (64 fatties, 256 fast ones) present on R600, only two real changes being an updated API support - Shader Model 4.0 is now 4.1 (checkbox feature, don?t get swayed by this number), and putting a more mainstream friendly 256-bit memory controller (cost of PCB for R600 was just horrendous). This deal enabled ATI to put the RV670 on a PCB very similar to X1950, changing the whole cost game. RV670 is expected with a retail price between 229 and 279 dollars, but we would not be surprised if a low-clocked part would retail for 199 Dollars/Euro."

"G96 versus RV670 and G98 versus RV635 (55nm die-shrink of 2600XT) in November, followed by real G92 versus R680 in Q1 2008. Life can't be more fun than in 3D world. Compared to fight between AMD and Nvidia, McLaren vs. Ferrari looks like child's game."
