Whenever start CSS screen goes black

Whenever i start CS:S my screen is fine with the green background and loading sign in bottom and then it all just goes black with little white flicker in the middle, PLEASE HELP.

Believe me, you don't want to experience a game like CS:S with an integrated graphics chipset like that. If you have pci-express or agp inputs then I suggest getting something better, at least a GeForce 7600.

Right. Maybe not that high. Try running the game in DX8 mode:

Left-click on the Steam tray icon.
Select "Games".
Click on the "My Games" tab.
Right-click on the game that you want to run in DX8 mode.
Select "Properties".
Click on the "General" tab.
Click on the "Set Launch Options" button.
Put in the window box: -dxlevel 81
Click "OK".
Click "Close".
