Where can i buy a Radeon X800 256 mb??? The one that's $400. everywhere i look its sold out. I need this before doom III and Half life 2 come out or else it will suck ass.

I was thinking about doing the same thing...waiting for either Doom 3 or HL2 to go gold and then buy my graphics card. I thought about that for a minute and realized that everybody would be doing the same. So I bought my X800 Pro in the beginning of June. Moral of the story? It pays to buy stuff ahead of time. :P

Seriously, the X800 and 6800 series of cards are still in extremely short supply. If you can find and buy one, you will be pretty lucky.

www.newegg.com says it is estimating some X800 Pro on the 20 of July.

Another alternative is to use www.pricewatch.com

This might be a bit off topic, but my peepis wants to ask. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it make more sense to just buy a nice gfx card like a x800 for $400 rather than buying a cheaper 9600 for like $150 b/c if you spend the $150 now and wait for the x800 to drop to like $250, you can't really sell the 9600 to get your money back, b/c the technology has changed too much to get a good chunk of your bucks back. So really you are spending the same amount of $ and not getting the top-of-the-line hardware. Right??

Yeah but for some people it's easier to save up $150 and then $250 later on than it is to save up $400 all at once.

But if you can, then you get that experience from the start! ;)

Sheesh, I wish we had X800pro's instock at my Compusa store.
Maybe I should transfer in a X800XT PE when they are available. :p

I go to pricewatch often, but have never bought anything from there. Is that site trustworthy? the cards are new right?

Yeah it's trustworthy, it's a good site for finding the lowest prices.

Pricewatch is trustworthy, but you don't buy the cards from them. hehe

Whoa I was just checking pricewatch and the MSI 9800 pro from newegg pricewatch says it's only 128-bit in the info! It says it's $197, must be an error right?
