I know that this is a real NEWBIE question, but...

I just bought HL2 today (yes, it´s late!)... I read in STEAM site that the SDK Source will be updated etc..., but i don´t see where download all these SDK files.

Could anyone give me a advice?

Best regards for all...

load up the "play games" menu in steam, then double click on source sdk (its under tools, scroll down).

and welcome to the forums... :)

Hey RANGA... Thank you very much... I didn´t see that line in STEAM :)

I´d like to program too (i am JAVA programmer and i know a little of C++)... Do you know what is the best COMPILER and IDE to use? I´ve heard about MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ .NET. What do you think about? And about BORLAND C++ BUILDER?

Best regards!

everybody seems to say that c++ is the best. i'm not really sure tho, i'm not into coding, just mapping.

The SDK is completely in VS .NET which means that if you want to use Borland or anything else you have to re-create the project files which would suck to do.
