Where do I put DL'd HLDM maps?

do you put them in (username)/half-life 2/hl2/maps OR (username)/half-life 2 deathmatch/hl2mp/maps

i know its a dumb question but i didn't want to start HL2 and wait for it o load then have an error then start over putting the files somewhere else, you know what i mean (I hope)
