All my news posters have disappeared off of the face of the earth, so here's a round up of the news that we have neglected to tell you about over the last week or so:[br]Combine Destiny Review[br]The guys over at Mod DB have written a review on Combine Destiny, a single-player episode for Half-Life 2, that enables you to play as the Combine:
Sounds interesting, so catch the rest of the review here.[br]Eternal-Silence Space Screenshots[br]As promised, the Eternal Silence team would like to show off their work in progress space screenshots. They're also looking for new members to join the mod team, so if you think you can create level art, concept art and animations suited to the style shown in the below screenshots then contact them.[br][br]Empires Update[br]The Empire mod have sent us news that work is progressing well on version 1.02 beta which is planned for release this Saturday![br]They'd also like to point out that any errors with their media page has now been corrected, along with some new sections showing off some fan-submitted contributions created using Garry's mod. More information on the mod can be found in the Empires Wiki.[br][br]Heat of Battle Press Release[br]As a special treat for not releasing a news update for a while, the Heat of Battle mod has released a bit update with several new skinned weapon renders along with news that the first maps for HoB will be Day of Defeat: Source compatible. For the original news post visit their website or see below for a sample of their new media.[br][br]For now, that's all the news we have time for, so pop back later for all the latest news.Half-Life: Opposing Force was an awesome game. Infact it'd probably be fair to say that had IT been the original Half-Life, the future and subsequent acclaim of the franchise would be no different. What made the game really exciting though was the fact that you got the play 'the bad guy'. Playing the same game from another perspective not only adds and interesting dynamic to the story, but also deepens the general universe that its a part of. The team behind Combine Destiny intend to put this very same principle into effect for their mod, which while not playing directly parralell to the Half-Life 2 story, promises to add more depth to the Combine.
