Where is the CS:S "surprise"?

Maybe last week or so didn't some guy who reviewed HL2 for one of the mags give some sort of mini-interview in which he mentioned that HL2 MP is CS:S but with a twist or a surprise (can't remember how he worded it)?

So, where is it? Did he play a build that hasn't been released yet? In which case Valve is being misleading at the very least when they say this is the "final" version of CS:S. Or did Valve just tell him that there would be certain things in it and he hadn't actually played it? Or is he just lying? Someone needs to find this guy and ask him.

(Oh, and if someone can remember the exact wording this guy used so they can do a forum search that would be helpful too.)

No idea but heres something I posted at csnation a while back;

Can we assume Gabe was lying about Half Life 2's multiplayer being revolutionary and something he plays daily?

Considering he made that comment in mid 2003, and Cliffe said they only started work on CSS around February 2004.

Which leads me to believe that there wasnt a multiplayer around the leak time meaning the game wasnt nowhere near ready - so Valve lied.

Good point. But I just kind of assume Valve has lied about several things throughout the development of this game. What I'm wondering about is this review guy.
