Surprised I didn't see this thread before.

Anyways I'm planning on the PS3 and the Revolution. How about you guys? :imu:

How are you able to just choose two consoles?

EDIT: On the poll I mean.

I'm only getting the PS3.

If I was rich, I'd get the Xbox 360 also, since there are a couple games on it that I'd like.

They'd have to pay me to play the Revolution.

How can you chose the revolution if you know shit about it.
I chose ps3 because Ive always been playstation fan.

Because it will not be far below the other two in graphics, and it can play every nintendo game EVER.

Speaking of the revolution..do we know of ANY hit games that are supposed to debut on it?

Playstation 3.

edit: The new mario, a new smash bros game, and..stuff.

Because there are some things that we do know. We know there will be another Zelda game. There will be more Metroid and Mario. There will be other new Nintendo first party titles.

To miss out on the Revolution is to guarantee in missing out on some of the best games of that generation - just as missing out on the nes, gb, snes, n64, gba & gc was (best we forget about the virtual boy though ;))

(How any gamer can even consider not getting the Revolution honesty baffles me. Just look at the new Zelda title on the GC. Now imagine Zelda in the next generation. Don't even start me on the new Metroid Prime :))

The same way you can choose the PS3 over every other system when you know pretty much nothing about it. [edit: also what Warbie said]

Besides, I don't trust Sony at all. Remember when they said the PS2 was going to be the most powerful of the three current-generation consoles? We all know how that turned out.

Not everyone thinks what you do. Dont bash others because they dont like nintendos new console. Id rather just buy an n64 then buy a nintendo and play n64 and snes games on it. The new zelda looks cack too.

I think I might stay with my PC, it'll have to go through a lot of upgrades just to be on par or better than these next generation consoles.

Well I'm leaning towards the 360 for Oblivion (finally got into Morrowind over easter, fantastic game) and Perfect Dark. But the PS3 looks tasty too :(

Revolution - probably not, unless it really is fantastic

I wasn't bashing anyone :)

You do realise that there will be new games on the Revolution? - which is the main reason for getting one imo (the rest is just a nice extra)

If you don't want first party Nintendo games then maybe the Revolution isn't for you (it does also mean you're clinically insane though :))

Yeah, I do...

xbox 360 mainly because of the streaming media thing. I could pay $299+ for a media extender or by and xbox then get a media extender... but bah whats the point thats all inculded in one system with a hardrive! I am just wondering what exactly ill need on the PC end to stream movies and stuff to the system (other then windows media edition).

Revolution and PS3. I hope Nintendo puts an hdd in the Revolution rather than using flash memory like they announced during the press conference. It'd be much better for downloading games.

Gimme the Revolution and Xbox 360 and I'm set.

Ill use freinds and families systems, until a good lineup as out for each system. About 6 mounths or so after their all released, Ill choose the one that has the best combination or selection, and graphics (capabilities). Right now I have to say it looks like Ill be getting the ps3, unless something changes.

From what I've seen, I'll probably end up with a PS3. The x-box '360' really doesn't look that much better than the x-box and we really don't know anything about the 'revolution'.

Same here. PS3 so I can get MGS4, and the revolution so I can play kickass gamecube games that I missed the first time 'round - for cheap!

Wow thats a diss to microsoft for being almost tied with revolution in this poll lol. No offense, I dont bias towards any system but after the N64, something happened to nintendo and they and their systems and games just ****ing sucked.

Now Im taking under consideration the time the N64 came out, and I would still say it was the best system ever released...ever. But then we never saw anymore games like Conquer, or Perfect Dark, or Goldeneye, or Rush. Which were probably some of the best games ever.

Stupid nintendo...absolutely stupid. Their PR sucks too. They know what games people want yet they dont deliver. Gamecube is not a kiddie system, yet the games that represent the system seem to be just that. Some of em are just lacking in all catogories including gameplay, design and value. They do get a 11 out of 10 in originality though. Some of em can be great fun for like a day. There is no way they can make up for anything with the Revolution. They lost too much revenue and dont seem like they have changed their attitude towards consoles with this new system. It seems like they are going into the console wars with the same mindset they had when they released the cube. Bad idea, to make a succesful system they need a completely new design (gaming wise, technicaly wise, everything wise).

Now for my opinion on the next gen systems. Im gonna say PS3 over Xbox. I saw both conferences, PS3 impressed me alot more. Xbox didnt impress me at all really. Some of the games look cool, but the whole system itself doesnt seem as innovative and suped up as the PS3.

To tell you the truth guys...I really (and this could just be me) did not see a difference at all graphically wise different from the original xbox. It really looks the same, not very special at all. The games also look the same...why release a new system if you are makin basically the same games with what appears to be the same graphics. And its not backwards compatible (bunch of bullshit) stupid move by MS. After the Killzone trailer I was sold to which system I would get.

I'll probably get the Revolution and the PS3. I might get the Xbox360 instead of the PS3 though, I'm not totally sure.

I'm definately not going to miss out on more Zelda/Metroid/SSB/Mario goodness, that's for sure.

bah humbug :p

I love my GC, easily as much as my PS2 and Xbox.

Resident Evil 4 is the best game of ths generation (and worth 10 MGS3 ;)), Metroid Prime 1 & 2 are both fantastic, F-Zero kicks ass - as does Wind Waker, Super Monkey Ball, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2, Tales Of Symphonia, Paper Mario 2 and plenty of other titles I can't bebothered to mention.

The DS is also excellent, and can boast more promising titles on the horizon than any other console at the moment.

And what was that rubbish about revenue?. You do know that Nintendo sell a shit load of hardware and software and are stinking rich?

Lastly - how can you possibly be excited about the killzone trailer?? "woohoo, a pre-rendered clip of the sequal of a crap game" Another win for graphics over gameplay :/

I weep for the PlayStation generation

Ladies and gentlemen - behold, the marketing man's wet dream.

although for the record id love to get into consoles - just dont have the time. how anyone can have the time to play pc games, and own all 3 consoles is beyond me. ive only ever owned a PS1 and an Xbox, and the only games I ever got were FF7, Halo, Halo 2, FIFA 97 and Sim City 3000.

LOL FF7 did kick ass though.

mind you im a TFC whore and that game is online, and strangely addictive.

Used to be a PS fan, I'm now an Xbox fan, but I'm thinking of getting both this time around.

sure, we do know alot more about xbox360 and ps3 than we do about the revolution, that's a fact.

(and I think nintendo is to childish)
