I'd love to own bioware - those guys always come up with innovative rpgs, which then sell like hot cakes. But the fact that they make something new and good makes them cool!

Valve has the pleasure of being funded themselves and rather than hitting deadlines, can use time at their own pleasure. This makes them again better off than other developers.

From a financial standpoint, I'd choose a cash cow like EA, though.
