Where do you plan to buy them from? XFX would probably be the better choice between those two. ;)

Give us some links. =p

Welllllllll, I have an XFX, and its okay......get the xfx if you want a higher memory clock speed, its a little faster than the PNY, 100mhz to be exact. but XFX has some pretty iffy support.
I've heard good and bad about XFX.....XFX 6600gt is a bit cheaper, but PNY might be a bit more relaible.
The only issue i have with my XFX 6600gt is that the fan buzzes a bit when I first turn on the computer (not enough oil on the ball bearings in the fan, when it warms up it goes away...) otherwise XFX'es are good cards for really cheap. Go with either one, im sure youll be happy.

Otherwise your best bet is the BFG 6600GT OC, its overclocked and BFG has amazing support, but its also rougly $40 to $50 more.
Hope this helps...

id buy PNY if i had to choose between those two. else ? hmm MSI :>
But before all i would save some more money and go for a 6800 Ultra

Avoid Gigabyte if you can, crap ass cooling. Leadtek'd be good

And what about Asus? They're ok right? The PCI-X version?

Sparkle's good, they have a 256mb platinum version too that's looks like an incredibly good value 6800gt.

I bought one from MSI and I like it. It has an auto overclocking feature and comes with decent software. I mostly got it because I was offered a great price. Check this link out it will help you:

Anandtech benchmarked a bunch of them and tells you about their cooling and everything.

i plan to buy it from Tiger Direct or newegg . im willing to spend under $170 for the card. thx for the suggestions. do i need to upgrade my PSU too? i got a 300 W PSU which makes some noise....

I would highly suggest a 350W PSU over the 300W, though it is possible to run it with a 300W PSU. Be prepared though.

Might I suggest BFG. I have a BFG 6600gt and it comes overclocked, plus (as if it being overclocked ain't good enough) it has a lifetime warranty. So, my recommendation would be BFG. Altough, it might be a little more than the others in terms of cost.

And it's lifetime warranty is better than PNY's lifetime warranty. PNY says lifetime of the product's shelf life +1-2yrs, something like that.

BFG is good stuff.
