I know many of you have tried MMORPGs, and I'd like to see some feedback as to which ones this community is looking forward to: and no I do not work for any media hehe. Odds are some of you are beta testers :)

Let's start off with the big names shall we?

Everquest II - Beta applications are over. Graphics look great in a weird way... Strictly for the EQ fans I suppose.

Vanguard Saga of Heroes - http://www.vanguardsoh.com/news.php Made by the original Dev team behind EQ, it's apparently aimed at the EQ power gamers. Great graphics but looks like more of the same.

Saga of Ryzom - Open Beta, graphics are nice, gameplay is horribly dull at the moment.

World of Warcraft - Great graphics if a little chunky, the Blizzard stamp will guarantee quality gameplay. The Bnet community however could really ruin the game ie "stfu noob! I pwn j00!1"

And many more... which one are you most looking forward to?

All I know is I'm not touching another SOE product ever again, SWG was great the first month but in the end it was just another grind fest :(

Think WoW would be my choice. Just waiting till they pop the open beta in europe hehe.

I just want them to make either a half decent WW2 MMORPG or a modern day one.

At the moment I dont see decent versions of either..

Now dont get me wrong. WW2 Online looks nice. But i mean. Where on earth did they dig up those annimators!!!

Its appaling!!!

If you dont believe me go get one of the vids.... ;(

That's because Guild Wars isn't a "real" MMORPG. It works more like Diablo in the sense that you first meet up in a huge virtual "chatroom" (like a castle or wasteland or something like that), form a group, and then head out into instanced areas.

Instanced areas only contains the people from your group and enemy monsters. So you wont be playing with other real players on a big scale the whole time.

And this way you won't have to fear someone running up behind you stabbing you in the back and fleeing with all your hard earned loot.

It's the Same thing with City Of Hereos Pal ands they still call that an MMORPG

I never played Everquest, but Everquest II sounds REALLY good! I read an article about lots of 'em in the new PC Gamer, and Everquest II just makes World of Warcraft and all the others sound like poopoo!

Yea makes them sound like that. I just hope EQ 2 pulls off what they are saying... if they do then, WOW

answer to the thread title: none :P

i just don't have the cash to afford an MMORPG on top of the bills i pay to survive :|
and its useless expecting a free MMORPG right?..

Eh, too bad they canceled Ultima Online 2, I would be playing that about right now. As other things, I guess WoW looks interesting, but than again, it’s just fighting and fighting and fighting. At least in UO my character, who was a famous dragon/demon slayer (on one of the Russian servers), always loved to craft some chairs for his mansion. He sucked at it, but hey, chopping down tree and making some furniture out of it was always fun.

Its gotta be Guild Wars, the e3 demo was awsome...and no monthly fees! :D

never saw the appeal of FF ... all those big eyed colourful characters are kind of disturbing....plus the dialogue was awful sometimes

Lots of different answers hehe. The Guild Wars demo was great, great graphics and sexy female avatars, what more does a man want right? hehe but I gotta agree with the diablo comment, only played for two days but it did get repetitive fast. The MP missions however are very fun.

Oh and about Matrix Online there's this comic strip that's guaranteed to make you laugh:

Anyone who's played a "more pigs" game will get it. I remember an army of Luuke or Dorth Mual in SWG. Some people just can't spend more than a minute to come up with an original name.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Lineage II I thought that one was supposed to be very popular : |

Yeah, they released a 2 day (or was it 3 days) long demo of the game. I personally didn't like it, but many others did.

No... No It's not. In city of heroes you can interact with anyone who's walking around in the city, form groups on the spot and stuff like that, but in GW, you will have to form a group in the "chatroom" (where you can't fight monsters or do any other important stuff) and then head out, away from the rest of the online player base into these "instanced areas" with your group.
I'm not saying it's a bad concept, it's just not traditional MMORPG style.

...and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Yeah, Guild Wars is another good one... the most fun I had had to be the naked-protest-conga-lines that were going on right before the demo was to be shut down, though. :P

Yeah, LoL, I was one of the first 4 to start that line. Pretty funny actually.
