Which router?

Bestbuy carried 3 main routers. The linksys the netgear and the dlink. These would be 4 port firewall/routers.

If im looking for the best out of the 3 which would it be? I used to always recomend the linksys becuase hey linksys owns! But i keep seeing reviwes on it that say its kinda stinky compared to the netgear. The reviwes are old and dont incompass the firmware updates but i dont know how to see what was updated in that.

For a home user who wants the best protection whyll still being able to play games and use p2p software, which would it be?

Yeah my Linksys works great for me, almost everyone I know uses them, but I heard that Netgear's are now very good and maybe better.

I have a NetGear router and it's fantastic. The set up was extremely easy and my connections are always smooth.

I am currently sharing a cable connection (RoadRunner) between 2 PCs and an Xbox. I never get any hiccups while playing on Xbox Live and on my PC at the same time. But, as people have already said, Linksys is awesome as well.

Looks like Netgear or Linksys are the two choices, either one is good.

I don't do networking that much, but when I do, I always stick with Netgear. I have never had a problem with a Netgear router.
