Hey guys, just curious, I'm planning on buying this sound card:

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum PCI Sound Card, Model "SB0350" -RETAIL

What set of speakers would use this card to its full potential? Thanks in advance.

Something with either digital CO-AX or Optical input - recommend the speakers I have, as they get nothing but good reviews and I can honestly say they are unbeatable:

Logitech Z680

I don't have those speakers but I have been doing some research and if you want to spend the money I would suggest you get those, and if you want to spend a lot less you can get the z640 but they cost less than the sound card haha.

If the Z680's are too high for you then grab the Z5300's.
The Z680 have the required ports for digital surround sound.

except all of you are falling to mention the fact that with a creative sound card (even sb live 2zs) the digital output will limit you to 2 speakers. (unless its a dvd movie)

the only way it does surround (using all speakers) in games is via the plain old connection.

The only sound solution out at the moment that can do surround via digital in everything is the Soundstorm (mcp-t) on the nforce 2 boards.

(funny enough Nvidia is killing it off to, it won't be used in any future motherboards, and is still the best onboard sound to date) :rolling:

KLIPSCH Klipsch Klipsch!!
they are great (the ultras) but if you want the BEST sound blaster Audigy2 zs speakers, those would be the Gigaworks (s750's)

7.1 speaker setup, and all the reviews (and by what people say who have had both) the gigaworks are a stepabove any klipsch speaker system to date (probably won't last that long, klipsch makes great stuff, takes them awhile, and it costs way to much $$)

So in conclusion gigaworks = best for Audigy2 zs

Wow, thanks I didn't know that!

the Logitechs are the loudest. I have the Z560s and have attempted to blow them multiple times, each time they coughed up smoke but played fine afterwards. Ol' Celine Dion made my 400watt system cough!

I have soundstorm on my A7N8X-Deluxe, perfect partner for my Z680s - I didn't know that the Audigy2 doesn't support true digital surround, that sucks.

I'm thinking about getting the z-680's this summer too, from what i've heard they are one of the best speakersets available.

i have z640's and some intergrated 5.1 surround card...sounds great

The logitech Z series. Whatever floats your boat from the lineup is the answer.

Z680s will definately not disappoint, if you like bass... these things are almost limitless in terms of volume and bass, they literally make the ground shake beneath you and thats with the bass at around 40%!

No distortion at all, either. They are on the pricey side, but if you want your music loud (the way its meant to be played ;)) then they are definately worth it. I have no regrets anyway! :D
