Which System?

Im about to buy a new system but cant decide which to get Im a big gamer and want to run halflife 2, battlefield2, doom 3 etc. the best I can... which would you guys go with?

P4 3.2
1024 DDR2 pc4300 Ram
x800 xt 256mb PCI EXPRESS
(This setup seems to be more updatble with pci express and ddr2)

or
AMD64 fx-53
1024 DDR pc 3200
x800 xt 256mb
(This system has an AMD FX which i have been told are much better for games that Intel)

Is there anything else seperating the 2 systems? (like speakers, sound card, monitor, harddrives, etc).

No not really there both alienwares and the Intel is a little less but not by much. As far as anything else HD, speakers, etc. its all the same.

Do you feel competent (or willing to learn) on how to build your own computer? You can easily save 500 (or a 1000) dollars if you build it yourself. Granted building your own computer takes a lot of research but in the end you learn a lot about computers. Plus I am sure this hardware forum can help you with any questions you have.

Well thats what I was originaly gonna do but Im wanting to finance my system and right now alienware is offering 6months same as cash till july 31 so thats why im buying from them plus Ive heard nothing but good things about alienware.
