Which was better, Halo 2 or Half Life 2?

I haven't played Halo 2 (or 1 for that matter). but I have Half Life 2 and I think it's incredible.

If any of you caught those Spike TV video game awards (or just read the winners on their website like I did), you'll see that halo 2 won best first person action game, and san andreas won game of the year.

So this poll is to get opinions on which is better, ONLY from people who have played both games please, I'm looking for unbiased opinions. Is halo 2 really better?

I know, there's no way I can get around that problem though. there aren't any boards I know of where all fans come together. so I guess the outcome here can be expected, but maybe not. just being a half life player who reads these boards shouldn't mean that they like it better than halo 2, people may like halo 2 better..

I didnt played HL2 yet but I hav played Halo2 and the true its not so good but still is not a bad game IMO

I know.. there's other games that I like that I read forums on them though -- guess I'm hoping for a bit of that here

by the way if this has been covered before I don't want to rehash the same shit, if someone wants to point me in the direction of another thread covering this that'll be good for me

I've completed both and I had more fun playing through Halo 2. But Half Life 2 is the more impressive game. I'd probably enjoy Half Life 2 a lot more if it didn't scare the shit out of me half of the time though.

Halo 2 was a big disappointment. Ive played about 15 minutes of Half-life 2, and I know its better.

Yeah, same thing in Halo 2. I got to play through some of it a few nights ago when my cousin brought his XBox here, and I wasn't enjoying it at all. I soon stopped and popped in KOTOR.

I liked both originals more than their respective sequels, but in both cases the Half-Life franchise wins out. I think Half-Life 2 narrowly beats Halo as well.

I voted half life 2 because it's true that it's better. There's nothing that I can say here that will be different from the thousands other valid arguments as to why Half life 2 is better, but it won't matter because the people who like Halo 2 will still like Halo 2, the people who like Half life 2 will continue liking Half life 2, and [on Halo's part, because Hl2 is just an awesome game] it's about faith. You can't really convince them otherwise, so why bother?

It's not "Which was better, Halo 2 or Half Life 2?", it should be "How many people liked Half life 2 more than Halo 2?" Because looking at all the arguments available [just do a search on this forum or google], people are still voting Halo 2 which doesn't make sense. Much like this incoherent rabble, but I just woke up - what's your excuse?

I have Halo 2, and in my opinion it was a BIG waste of my money. I could of spent that $50 to buy some HL2 merchandise.
