Which of these two options would you choose:

1. A meal that takes a lot of time and effort to cook.

You have no idea how it'll be until you eat it, and there is no guarentee it will be good - if it is bad, you have to take a lot of time and effort cooking a new and different meal, and go hungry in the meantime. Even once you've cooked a susequent meal there is no guarentee it'll be good either. However, there is a chance that you will find the perfect meal that'll keep you happy and healthy for the rest of your life. Then again, you may not, and as your cooking skills fade with age, you may well face the latter years of your life hungry.

2. A meal that takes little time and effort to cook.

As before, you have no idea good it'll be until you eat it, but this time, if you don't like it, you can simply pick another one, and you don't have to eat the bad meal again. With each meal, again there is no guarentee it'll be good, but as stated before, you can just choose another one. There is a slight chance that you will find the perfect meal, but it is no great. As before, your cooking skills fade with age, so it is likely you'll spent the latter years of your life hungry.

CHOOSE NOW - say why too :) [but please don't alter the choices - they are as they are]

2 obviously im a lazy ****. Taste does matter but if you are dying of starvation i dont care. Preferably something that takes NO time to cook but tastes good. e.g. pizza hut!

I think you guys miss the point :E

Read between the lines :)

I'm talking about relationships :D

Wtf... you shoulda mentioned that -_-
This is why i hate literary analysis o.<

I voted 2, but now i would vote one :p

Number 1 for the superficial and the subtle.

Edit: I just find it more satisfiying to cook a meal than heat it up, even though it can be difficult going hungry sometimes its more rewarding in the end.
Edit2:D: I always have time for food, its an important part of my life. I especially take a long time eating my meals, savouring every part. Its not unusual for me to eat a meal over 2 - 3 hours.

This analogy could go a long way...

I chose 2, because if your cooking skills will fade with age, then what's the point? :\.

but if you're talking about relationships I choose 1 :p. It's not a good idea to compare women to food, it only makes them angry

I choose one , with age my cooking skills have yet to fade and I am yet to go hungry.

When i was younger I ate plenty of bad meals.

(please note the inuendoes )

Haha :)

Yeah I was using this as an example to win an argument with a friend earlier today :)

Yeah, what he said... choice 1 and I agree with your reasons :D

Fish 'n' Chips for me, or perhaps a Pizza.

relationships?...:\ i dont see how that's related to food but I generally would rather a long waited really good meal unless I'm like crazy hungry then it's anything quick.

You'd prefer a decent relationship, unless you're desperate, then it's any looose schllllaggg
;)

As a friend of mine once said, "Any hole's a goal".

I think he was gay.

choice 1. i dno why really, but i want to learn how to cook, and trial and "error", would improve my skills...i suppose.

plus being killed by food poisoning

stop chatting that man! tis all lies. Nice timing of this thread though considering the night, thank you once again, the smile on my face is ridiculously huge :D (and for the others badger didnt give me any favours)

With relationships, things that take ages to cook and taste great at the end are the best. This quick stuff is all pointless.

Awww Glenn :p

Anyway - yea, fair play to those who choose differently to me - I'm just interested in how things pan out.

You suck, option 2 for food, 1 for relationships.

I concur with this.

Girls like guys that can cook.

But only gay guys can cook, and gay guys don't like girls.
Well I ain't gay and I can cook....some.

I'm not gay and I can cook very well. And I plan on going to culinary arts college later in life (probably).

I find that, whilst quick meals may fill the - ahem - gap, they're usually less satisfying.
Say you were having a cheese toastie. It was conveneient and it tastes fine, but if someone were to offer you a roast chicken dinner, you'd much prefer that. You'd be there with your toastie, but you'd be thinking about the chicken, teasingly reminding you of the hollow sham that your lunch-life truly is.
I love cooking.

And that really was an obtuse metaphor, Comrade... :)

Damn, i thought you were being metaphorical or somehting

1.

Heh :)

Lunch-life :D ...

Yea - I like this metaphor :)

Depends who is eating it. If it's just me I don't care... but if i'm cooking to impress then I like to put the effort in.

Not that this happens often, or that it impresses anyway, but ... well, I try

edit: if you're on about relationships (because they're so much like cooking ... :|) i'd have to say I'd cook one hell of a nice meal, but have a couple of snacks to keep me going whilst cooking.

I'd vote 1, since im not in it for the relationship but rather the bit before it. Even the relationships that don't involve a "slag" and it's more like situation B: Girl likes your for some strange reason such as your a famous Spam0r and you think she is attractive but you don't know her. These are teh sucky and a waste of time. I don't like the idea of not being able to think "hmm thats an attractive girl I wonder if she is good at teh cooking so she could make me teh food!!11" since I would be restricted by a girlfriend. At least option 1 means you have lots of time to do this sort of thing.

BTW worst thread ever, most people only read the first post :p. Why couldn't you had just said you were talking about relationships
