Who can help me

I have posted a bunch of threads and one have really helped me at all, so hopefully someone will know something.

I bought half life when it came out and played it a ton. It played fine on my pc and everything was cool. I stopped playing for a while and in between i reformatted my computer. Now when I play, I start a game, its fine, then as soon as any action comes, it gets unplayable and doesnt get any smoother. I get about 5 frames a second at most. What im wondering is did reformatting cause a problem?

I have all the new ATI drivers, service pack 2 etc...

Pentium 4 2.0 MGz
512 RAM
radeon 9600 pro
2.0 GHz processor

there are no other games on my pc......i know this might be a longshot, but if anyone knows a possible solution I would be greatful

Which video settings are you using?

low, everything on the lowest, i should be able to run them on medium at least, i ran them on high without problems too

what drivers, for my video card? I did that...how do i update the windows drivers?
