I have a good solid firewall on the server...which uses linux. I also use linux on this computer a lot. Not all the time but often, so thats added proteciton.

i dont use zone alarm, but your bestbet is to go to symantec.com ( the norton anti virus website) and get the virus killing tool. its on the main page. then update your os.

So far i believe the virus has tried to enter my computer almost 3000 times. Its quite funny. Because it trys to enter on certain ports, and i have my firewall blocking them at the moment. Computers are trying to connect all the time though, in the time it took me to write this, 5 more connections have been attempted. Im pretty sure its the virus because of the ports that are being "bombarded"

Using Win XP, installed the fix right away when i found out about the virus. Didn't get me, my comp seams quite imune to viruses, almost never get any :E

I imagine the guy who created it is very intelligent. It's a shame he used his skills to create a virus/worm but his hopefuly his talents won't be wasted and he'll join a professional security / anti-virus team when he's older.

I'd be thankful that this worm is so easy to get rid of. It can put up a fight but where I work I've been removing it from several people's computers and have it down to about two minutes now and that's manually, without using any programmes ( bar MS's patch to finish it off ).
