Who here plays DDR?

My mom got my brother a $200 metal dancing pad for Christmas two years ago.. he broke it, this was actually FROM Level Six.. they said sure, send it back in, they'll replace it

He waited too long, sent it in, and didn't get another back or his money back or anything.. then again, it was HIS fault for waiting past the 30 day grace period :|

Anyhow, DDR is pretty fun, but I never got into the dancing version, I prefer doing it on a computer with the keyboard or on the PS2 with a controller

:( I shun DDR. I have a friend that works at an arcade, and the idiots(not all of them) that hang around the DDR machine like its life support are all a bunch of Ex-Heads who try to sell Ex(tacy) and Weed to the younger kids that go there to play the other games... It's because of those people that I shun DDR.

You misspelled ecstasy :O

lol, meh. Don't blast people for being addicted to DDR, it's really no different than being enamored with say.. HL2

I'm going by the street spelling of Extacy here in Louisville.... not the actual correct spelling of ecstacy. Anyway, I don't mind the people who play DDR because they like it. Those people are nice. It's the ones selling drugs to little kids that I want to stab with a knife- repeatedly.

DDR on a dance pad is fun...i play :) but i don't have my own pad :(

Anthraxxx --have you ever played it?
yeah. I didn't care for it much, though I liked the music.

Edit: I wasn't any good at it either. I don't see how those people can become good enough to get "Perfect!" on every arrow.....

Edit 2: Of course I should be good at it....after all.... I'm asian. Us asians have ub3r 1337 m4D 5k1LLz.... ;)

I play it sometimes... I was doing it frequently enough for a while that I can manage the 'standard' songs alright. :P

We have a DDR machine at my college (DDR Max 2, 8th mix). Used to play it every Monday and Wednesday between break. It's very addictive.

Haven't played it but once this summer...might play this weekend. Need to buy my own pad but they're like $100 for a good one.

Did you guys hear about the DDR exercise program? I kid you not, there's such a thing. Some girl lost like 40 or 70 lbs., and some guy lost like over 150. He was 300-something pounds to begin with, now he's like 180? Crazy.

Fun exercise program though. :)

What the hell is DDR? Wait.........are you guys talking about one of those gay dancing games?

HAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAA! Yes, I've played that. It sucks balls. HAHAHAHHAHHAHA!

EDIT: I did like Parappa the Rapper though.

EDIT #2: Guys, go to a dance club if you want to dance. For me, dancing is something I have to do to pick up women. I really have no other use for dancing.

DDR dancing != club dancing.

I'd pity someone if I saw them trying to dance DDR-style in a club. Most pitiable thing ever. EVER. But you can dance freestyle in DDR...like, club dancing on a DDR machine. I've seen a lot of people pop-lock or break or do other crazy sh*t on a DDR machine. I saw one guy mimic drunken style kung fu, even did a backflip on the pad and hit two of the arrows with his hands before collapsing "drunk" at the end.

I love DDR. It doesn't really simulate dancing at all (unless you freestyle), but it's fun as hell. I used to play it like every second of the day but now I only go when I'm at the arcade. I loved it back in the day when everyone played but now no one I know really plays that much anymore. :(

I have a metal Red Octane pad at home but I don't use it. Anyone wanna buy it? :)

I didn't like DDR. I went to this arcade once and there were kids who played it to much they could do the dances while facing backwards. That's really sad I think.

Seems like a silly game to me... dancing with a computer rather than women. Robot dating is JUST around the corner! lol

Dancing in general is just silly. I've never really liked it.
