Personally Ska is my favorite genera of music. I like Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto, and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution.

please link an example [preferencially legal]of Ska music. ;)

i don't recognize your bands, but are you talking about real jamacain 60s ska or british-american 80s-90s 'punk-ska' revival? i can't stand either very much myself.

I've always had a soft spot for the likes of Goldfinger and a few others.
Not my favorite genre, but good ska is great stuff to play for fun.

ME! :D

the Toasters, the Skatelities, all the way up to Reel Big Fish et all :)

Trumpet music!....at least thats what people at collage call it. I quite like it, however having said that i havent got any ska. I usaually listen to my friend's .

Reel Big Fish is good, so are Mighty Mighty Boss Tones and Less than Jake, but I think Catch 22 and Streetlight are the best.

You can listen to audio clips from both bands on samgoody.com

Goldfinger! Goldfinger! Although they are more punk, some songs are quite SKAish.

Goldfinger's 99 Red Ballons, a quality track.

Oh, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones is pure summer beer-drinking music :)

Never really got into Catch 22, only heard 1 song by them.. I'm intrigued by Streetlight Manifesto, and Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, what kind of Ska do they play..

I also like the Mad Caddies and Capdown :)

I've heard that some people consider Sublime to be ska, i'm not sure if this is true since they only listened to 'Date Rape'. Or is it reggae? and what the hell is reggae any way? I'm all confused. I only know two types of music: good music and bad music.

Just got me a copy of Kreasby Nights by Catch 22...

The title track of that album is amazing :)

GoldFinger is good, gave a show here in PT a few months go, watched it, pretty good stuff.

Only Ska band I like is the Mad Caddies, hate everything else.

Sublime actually they kind of are somthing else... yeah but most ska and Emo suck

Filibuster is the best Surf Rock/Ska -band ever. I've been searching for "Aaargh St." for like forever (heard it in Amped first) but haven't found it...
Fishbone are pretty good too.

Streetlight sounds a lot like Catch 22 except a bit more jazzy (which is a good thing trust me). Most of their songs sound like "Hey Sergio" and "As the Footsteps Fade Away". Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution is basically just Streetlights brother band except that their are more instruments involved and none of them are electric, hence being the Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution.

The Bandits didn't release a CD that was sold in stores. You can find audio clips on their web site though (there used to be a websight were they had entire songs but it doesn't appear to be working).

By the way, Keasby Nights is a great song.
