I call it 'In a world of my own'. Well I was going to put this in the Female beauty thread, but i thought her beauty deserves its own thread!

I like this pic... which is actually quite strange because I never usually like the things I draw. As usual, snapshots taken with my C500 Smartphone (640x480 Cam) so the level of shading is REALLY badly captured. The shading on the face looks horrible, but it isn't actually that bad. * I MUST SCAN THESE PICS SOON * lol, my dad has a scanner at his office, I just always forget.

Tools of the trade:
Random cheap unmarked, unbranded pencil from a 24 pack for £1.
Random rubber (unknown source)
Cheap Viking Economy photocopy paper, from a pack of 500

PLEASE tell me if theres anything I can do to improve it, I would like to get the picture as close to perfect as I possibly can. I have put the original image I drew from, so you can compare. I'm re-working on to some peices now, such as her hair, and her bum.

That looks really great, I love your pencilling style, the way you shade around the figure to add emphasis and so on. I can't wait till you scan it :thumbs:

Heh thank you!... I don't usually do that, its just that if I am drawing and I am aiming for photorealism, I want to avoid using lines - but lines are inevitable in a picture with a dark background - so without losing emphasis, saving time and avoid a cartoony look, I done that

Heh thanks all! Yea I didn't think much of her at first, especially as I prefer darker haired women rather than blondes - but ever since I watched The Girl Next Door she has become an exception... the only exception. Not because she played the role as an ex-pornstar, but because she has beauty in whatever she says, and wherever she goes.

I think it looks fine as it is.. yeah its not a perfect copy but then thats not really what sketching is about anyway. I think it looks good, don't spoil it by adding to it, that almost always ruins something. The trick is knowing when to stop. And its fine as it is

google a bunch of images of her face and then do a single sketch with them all together on the page. It'll keep it more interesting to work on and be good practice too, and im sure you'd enjoy it hehe.

LOLOMG thats kinda mad - yet challenging

I can't help imagine though that it would be a huge cluster of beauty... I would prefer to draw scenes myself but i don't know how exactly it would turn out.

Thanks man! Ok Ok, heres the deal - mes going to give a load of pieces to my dad to scan at his office, and I'm going to take pics of all my art pieces at school worth taking pics of.
