So now what do I do...hahaha.
maximus0402 said:Only ATI Voucher people will get the download tonight if you scratched off the cd key and have opted to get through steam. If you want the boxed copy then you will have to wait for your boxed copy, simple as that. They are not going to be downloading this to ANYONE who has not purchased it yet, which at this point since there is no option to buy, then ATI people get it first.

Napalm said:Not angry just some people sounded like it was 100% set in stone that you had to have an ATi voucher...just unfounded...the last thing we need is spreading false information. You do have a point though, VALVe didn't say you didn't need a voucher...kudos to u Someone.
eQUIV said:Yes, kudos on basically rephrasing everything I already said one post before you. haha
that didnt stop them from uploading cs:cz on my machine without me buying it yet.eQUIV said:Realistically I wouldn't put money on that assumption. The only way I could see Valve let EVERYONE with a steam account preload HL2 is if they wanted to run a REALLY expensive test on the stability of the steam content provider servers.

Agreed. It's closing in on September, and right now the game appears to be very close to being gold-worthy, based on all the info currently available. I sense a gold announcement in the next 3 weeks.brightgreen said:A release announcement must be soon
czrsink said:That's essentially what I was getting at. However, I still think Valve mayoffer the HL2 preload for PAYING customers ie, they pay their $49.99 and they get the preload, like they did with CS:CZ.
brightgreen said:True (maximus), it will only be available to those who have already purchased the game in some form or another.
and like I said before ...
Who would buy this thing without any idea on when it will be activated/released?
Who would give out their credit card information out to Valve, and have to wait an unknown amount of time to get what they bought?
A release announcement must be soon

It's my understanding that everybody will be allowed to preload Half-Life 2. Then on release day, you will have several ways to activate it: purchase through Steam, ATi voucher code, or entering the CD-key from a boxed copy.Slimeball said:I don't see why its such a big deal...why are the people that don't have an ATI voucher fretting over not being able to preload it...you won't be able to play it anyway unless you buy it...
