why cant u buy cs:source by itself?

i have a few questions,
i want to buy counter strike source, and put it on one computer, but i also want to buy hl2 and put that on a beater computer, how can i do this? hl2 will take tooooo long to download with my connection, but css wont. is there a way to buy css by itself?

Well Yes and no... You can install Steam on both computers and buy w/e package you want and download it. Then you can also just delete the CS:S GCF file from the computer you want HL2 on, and delete the HL2 GCF file from thec omputer you want CS:S on. This will allow you to have CS:S on one computer and HL2 on the other.. the only thing you can't do is be online at the SAME TIME. Reason why they are releasing them as one package (well in my opinion) more money... thats they only reason

I'd like to point out that CS:Source is over a gig download (including DoD: Source, etc.. which is required). HL2 is RELATIVELY not much more, so your idea that HL2 will take too long to download whilst CS:S won't is frankly, wrong Get both!
