Why do GAME listen to all the rumours?

Ive pre ordered Half-Life 2 from GAME. The release date according to them has been jumping around the scale.

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for 'Half Life 2' has changed to Aug-2003.

Ah I see thank you for informing me. Well, if GAME owns EB, chances are they dont know a damn thing just like EB.

GAME don't own EB, they took it over.

EB-USA and EB-UK had a dispute and seperated. GAME then took over EB-UK and coverted the stores into GAME stores. So now there is no EB in the UK.

Confusing, eh?

I ordered a copy from gameplay.co.uk and they're oblivious to every rumor out there. Only thing that has changed is the price it went up a couple of pounds.
