I remember seeing Duke Nukem Forever previews. I fell in love with the game, (since I loved Duke Nukem 3d) and could not wait for the game. I followed the community, and the game for like 3 years before giving up. Next? Team Fortress 2. I was a TFC player at the time previews for this game started coming out. I downloaded the E3 video. All the screens, got all the mags with picture of TF2 in em. Started a TF2 website. Now Half Life 2! The game out of all of them that I've been looking forward to the most. The frikkin source got leaked. WHy does this only happen to the games I follow. I dont really get into other games all that much, or take part in the communities like I did/do with the above games. Why?! Does anyone else ever feel like this? The Source is leaked, and I'm very sad. Valve must feel horrible. :(

Could you start liking the sims and console's in general please?

Choose to have lower expectations. If you follow a game that is already out, you might have a better chance of picking up a copy, and they might stick to their release date. I can't wait to get my copy of Half-Life. I hear it was the Game of the Year in 1998. Oh, the fun we will have sitting around the warm glow of my monitor.....

I hear they have realistic 3d sound and real time shadows... Oh, so exciting..

The best games take the most work and the longest time to make in order to live up to their hype. As a result they are going to have alot of problems due to their hype (source code stolen) and unable to decide how to best design the game (unable to decide on an engine for DN Forever).

Then alot of it is just simply bad luck.
