I just wanted to see why everyone loves the game sooooo much. I'm one of them by the way.
 
Because I love to wait for delayed games, its just so sweet...
 
cuz it looks shit-hot, it has a great prequel, one of the greatest and best selling games of all time, it has some kick-ass features, looks set for a gripping story line and addictive gameplay.

Apart from that i like Alyx's botty :p :E
 
HEY DAWDLER,

I just noticed your sig about Gothic II.

I played the demo of the first game and it was different and pretty cool and I was looking to get the 2nd which is pretty cheap right now. Is it a good game. The complaints I have been seeing is its got wierd interface and controls, but I think it was the same situation for the 1st game. Is the game good or frustrating??

I love it beacuse the graphics engine is outdated, the shadows suck.. and the physics are soso... I loved HL1.. and i want to play HL2.. thats it
 
I want to find out what happens to all the characters and get access to the most moddable (supposedly) game ever.
 
The first one is pretty much the best game I have ever played. I hope HL2 will take the honor from HL1.

I don't know why I like this game. In HL2 world there is a guy who visited valve who said its got huge load times. Ace I believe. He said they were longer than Farcry. I don't own farcry but if it's as long as I think it will be a huge PO.

They work for years on this game and they can't load things on the fly? I know it's good to pre-load stuff before you play the map but geeze. 5 minutes?

...this game is gonna be a huge let down. I can see it now.
 
i loved the first 1 and gave it to my mate and never got it back and dont no where he is anymore i think he dida runner with it.and all the mods what are comeing out and i like this i like and that too theres just toooooo much to say and the 1 thing id miss when it does come out is every morning as soon as i get up i turn my pc on and look for any updates because as where going to bed in the uk there evening is only just begining and alot of things could have happend since we went to sleep
 
Far cry takes 30-45 secs per level to load on my pc, but after you die and you re-load the same level it takes less than 5 secs, cause it has the level cached in memory. Doom 3 takes over 3 mins per level, and if i want to reload it's another 3 mins. :\

I'm very eager to use the editor and to test the physics.
In the game itself, I like the surrounding atmosphere and the way we can interact with a lot of things and persons.

uh... and I want to know Alyx a little more...

and wtf is with everyone and alyx????? shes a computer generated character ffs. there should be no attraction, but then look at lara croft when she appeared...no wait...'they' appeared.
 
Mostly because Half Life was great game, and I'm hoping HL2 will be too. The problem is, ever since TFC, Valve haven't done a single thing right. They are starting to look like a one-hit wonder, but time will tell. I'm still faithful that, despite Valve being complete morons, the game will be good.
 
Valve have put a lot of thought and care into this game and the design of the game. They are pushing for new experiences with gameplay, story and atmosphere in an FPS and are doing it in ways that haven't been done before.
I would have to say, though, that the main draw for me has to be the interviews and articles (and I don't mean advertisements) I have read about Valve. I build up hype for a game based on how the developers talk about the game; what are they most excited about? most proud of? what games do they admire? where do they think gaming will go in the next five years?
From what I have read from Valve I am personally very impressed and can't wait to see their ideas fleshed out.
I am also looking forward to working with the mod tools which sound quite juicy.

Because I can't wait to play a game with "the awsomeness of todays techonology" (as i've ssaid before). I've been dying to play something in the FPS genre that just looks plain awsome, and i'm willing to spend what it takes to upgrade my computer for the day it comes out.
 
hl2 is cool ... hmmm i dno why ... maybe cause its pretty and the storys gonna own ... and some naked alyx mods ... yeah ... with properly calculated boobie physics ... :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper: :sniper:
 
It looks to have the most interactive world yet... story has the potential to be cool... looks to have inventive gameplay... atmosphere seems to be done right... actually, everything seems to be done right so far. :)

And it's not Half-Life 2, but the soonder HL2 is out, the sooner Team Fortress Classic Source is out. :p
 
HL1 best game ive ever played, HL2 appears to be the only game i know of that looks like it will be better.
 
Because the prequel was one of the only games that ever drew me in enough for me to play it to completion.

And that thing about the huge load times... that's another thing that makes that guy at HL2w.o.r.l.d.'s story odd... other previews mention quite short load times...
 
I was addicted to the first Halflife so i want to know what those guys at valve are brewing in there ivorytower for us.
 
i pld the beta ( im weak i know :( ) and the load times were less then doom3, but then again it is a year old things have probably changed a lot since then :p
 
Great graphics, realistic physics, good singleplayer thanks to the atmosphere and story.
