Hey I juts decided to get rid of my router and i took it out and hooked everything up. Now my cable modem will run for about 10 minutes then the lights will all shut off and it looks like its powering back up (power lights comes on, recieve light flashes then goes green) but then it gets to the Send light and it just flashes green and doesnt come on. then without me doing anything like 5 minutes later it will all work fine. I wonder if its my cable modem or my network card or my computer?

sorry if its confusng its 2 in the morning and im tired lol and im getting the little internet time i can get in.

do you have an rca (for this reason im not going to move it to look at its designation, ill describe it) modem? its white, with gray underbelly thing and a blue power button? stick with me here, it hink i know whats wrong with yours.

ok well. if youve been moving it around, as you did probably to take the router out, then it may be the power supply on the little bastard is faulty like virtually every other cable modem, including mine. i would suggest taking the power cord of the modem, making it as straight as you can (no tangles, nothing that would cause the modem to hang off the ground) and place the modem on a level surface. take the power cord out, then press and hold the power button. then plug it back in, and see what happens. make sure it doesnt get moved.

i Guess D-LINK makes theres solid... i thow mine around like a football ;)

Maybe its too hot? Shouldnt be a problem for that short time... but you never know.

I called up cablevision/optimum/whoever and they checked the power going into my cable modem and my friends in the other room and they said there must be some internal wiring problems since he has a high signal and my signal is very weak so it keeps fading in and out. coming tommorow to fix it :)
