I just found out that EB Game stores dont take your trade in's for pc games anymore. That sucks!!! ;(
I'll buy a game beat it in about a week and trade it in for at least half of what you paid for. Now all that is gone:angry: :angry:

I guess i could look on the bright side I'll finally start a pc games collection.:P

The only thing now is , I wont just go out and buy just any game anymore knowing i'm not going to get any credit back from my previous purchased games.

Ohh well at least i still have my 32" hd tv:laugh:

Most places dont.

1.) CD Keys
2.) You can just burn it off and return it
etc, etc

What about Pure singleplayer games? Oh and you can burn/rip any form of media including cartridges so meh.

you can still 'just burn it off and return it' with Pure single player games.

how many people do you think know how to copy something like a cartridge, and how many people do you think own a cd burner ? see the reasoning behind eb still buying second-hand cartridges ?

That whole piracy issue doesn't stand up. If he were trying to get a refund then I could understand them saying no, but he's trading it in for less then he payed and you can bett your ass they'll put a massive mark up on the resale price.

My guess is that they simply aren't making thier money back on second hand PC games. This piracy excuse is BS, I bet they still take PS2 discs, despite them being just as easy to copy. It's just that they can turn a profit with those copies and not on PC games.

This is actually pretty old news. They stopped this like a month ago to keep in line with the Gamespot "merger." Apparently Gamespot doesn't deal in used PC games and so EBGames won't either--while they're still around! Very sad I know, but eBay is great, like Last One In said above. Plus, at least you can still buy used PC games there--I recetly got some seriously terrific titles for very very cheap. Just look around :)

I used to buy a game by this method :) buy a game, install it, go back to the store, say you don't like it and want another game, trade it, install that game too, go back to the store, say your version doesn't work somehow, get a new one. install crack for game #1.

Then you have 2 games, and one with 2 original cd-keys :D

That's what the license agreement when you install the game tells you....sheesh...everyone reads it, why don't you?

That requires special hardware that not alot of people have.
You can rip PC games with a CD-ROM drive and free software... so meh
-.-

This is what the Quake 4 Software License Agreement says:

"3. Prohibitions with Regard to the Software. You, whether directly or indirectly, shall not do any of the following acts:

a. rent the Software;
b. sell the Software;
c. lease or lend the Software"

Just to name a few the stuff you can't do. Seems they don't like it and I guess these stores are just complying to these agreements.
