Why hasn't Tool brought out a live DVD?

I just haven't had the chance to see them live,the videos on yt look awesome....I would pay a zillion dollars to see them play Pushit live
I hope they bring one soon.just like Trent did with Besides you in time.

I like BYIT but it's nothing compared to AATCHB, true.

Tool is not really the live DVD type of band. Seeing them was awesome, but it was a very different live experience than most other bands (like NIN).

Doesn't Salival come with a DVD that has some live performances on it? If so, that's the only one you're going to get probably. Plus the live version of Pushit from Salival is delicious.

True. I've only seen a couple videos of Tool live on Youtube, but he did do a lot of really awkward and bizarre stomping in swamp song/sweat.

Apparently they're thinking of coming out with a live DVD release in between now and their next album, though I can't cite any source (it might have been an interview from a few months ago) so don't hold me to it.

Tool kicks ass live. I'm not sure a DVD would be the same, though.

Yeah, a bit overpriced ($30) but definitely worth it...best live DVD ever (piggy performance, Just like you imagined live, ect)

Anyway I would buy the Tool live dvd

Like other people have said, watching Tool play live on a DVD would relinquish the experience of actually seeing them live. All of the energy is focused on the crazy light-show/lazer-show/special effects shit that goes on during the show, it's not like they're going crazy on stage.

I watch Tool play live on Youtube to rekindle my experience of seeing them, but yeah, it's nothing like the real deal.
