Man, I've been crashing in CSS for a while now. Even after a reformat!... after about 1-10 mins my game frezes hard with the sound looping and I have to press my restart button. I have the 81.85 drivers for my video card and I have the 6.66 mobo drivers. what could be causing the problem?

Have the same problem every now and then and I've got a 9800pro from ATi. Don't know. Hope someone else can help us both out.

Also whenever I alt+tab back into CSS it screws up and crashes.

Could be overheating. Try underclocking a bit.

I play HL2 and CSS in a window on my 9800 pro and it hasn't crashed in ages.

I personnaly think its the 81.85 drivers, do you guys have them?

I wasn't having problems with 78.05 so I rolled back and I will let you know if it fixes it.

edit: not one freeze. the newest drivers had to have been the problem.

Actually, I'm having the exact same problem. In fact, once in a while everything sort of turns of and my screen goes blank, except I can tell that my computer's still running (although I cant tell if it's actually doing anything.)

Devil...how do I roll back my drivers?

Go to the properties for your graphics card and search around for "change back to old drivers" or something like it.

Heh, sorry - I forgot to mention that I have a Radeon 9600pro.

I'm not sure, but this might have started when CSS released HDR and all that. I've never had any problems with CSS until now.

I found out from the nvidia forums that this problem occurs with people who have Dualcore Processors.... and the new drivers
