Why is Steam updating my games?

Sounds like a dumb question but theres more to it.

I load STEAM up today (20th September) and CSS, DODS and HL2DM update from like 10%.

I check all 3 and there is no update news what so ever for the last few weeks. Why were they updating?

Yeah here too.. btw the UPDATE is at 10%, not the game. Mine finished in like 20 seconds. Dunno what's changed.

Nope

Mine are updating too.

We are sorry for any problems you may have experienced due recent Source-Engine updates.

This include me, it might be a fix for that but I've had problems in single player source games as well (although not as bad).
