It's a sad day for horror aficionados:

IMDB: said:
Michael Bay Producer:

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) (pre-production) (producer)
The Birds (2009) (pre-production) (producer)
Friday the 13th (2009) (post-production) (producer)

What the ****? Remaking Freddy and Jason?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fun fact: I go to college at SUNY Potsdam in New York. Wes Craven was a humanities professor for some time at Clarkson university, a college also in the town of Potsdam. Nightmare on Elm Street was inspired by the actual Elm street in Potsdam. The name of the town in the movie is "Madstop", which is Potsdam backwards.

The other two I could care less about (since they've already been abused pretty badly) but THE BIRDS? I have fewer gripes against Michael Bay than most people but he's like the anti-Hitchcock.

wow the birds...that sounds about as scary as plants emitting a neurotoxin that kills humanity.

Maybe he's bypassing Hitchcock and basing it straight on the short story.
Not that it'll suck any less.

WHAT?

Who let this maniac have the rights to a Hitchcock movie!?!?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

The short story was better than the movie tbh. It was a great allegory for the London bombings.

Last time I checked, bombers don't peck you to death

They dropped incendiarys and bombs, so in essence if The Birds was an Allergory of the Bombings, then they would shit you to death

"My eyes, my eyes, the goggles do nothing!"

The short story was amazing, I've never watched the movie. Terrifying thought.
