Why not to have your head cryogenically frozen after you die

The New York Daily News is reporting that Red Sox Hall of Famer Ted Williams' severed head was mistreated at an Arizona cryonics facility, according to details from a new book.

In "Frozen," Larry Johnson, a former executive at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation in Scottsdale, Ariz., writes that Williams' head, which had been severed and frozen for storage, was abused at the facility. Johnson claims a technician took baseball-like swings at Williams' frozen head with a monkey wrench.

perhaps he was headed for the baseball hall of fame and wanted to give Williams a headstart

no that's not williams, this is ...sort of (I'm guessing it was cast before the lab worker played whack a mole with his head)

I know it's not Williams... It's Ron Popeil, the man who is going to change how heads are stored so this sort of travesty never happens again!

Looks like it was before he got whacked with a monkey wrench, but after he was dead. Or at least I hope so. Dude looks dead in that.

Oh, I see, he was trying to dislodge a can. I skipped too quickly through it and when I read the sentence about cans being used as pedestals, I thought this was the story of some crazy employee who loved to line up all the heads on top of cans and then walk down the line, whacking them away like golf balls.

Wow, disgruntled employees should not be allowed in cryogenics labs.

2009 - Hey if I freeze my head, maybe they'll find a way to bring me back in 2409

2409 - Lets check the freezer to see who we can bring back, oh here is a head...lets bin that, the body is PRETTY IMPORTANT

The problem with this is that despite their best efforts I'm sure there will still be damage to the brain tissue. So if they do open up the freezer and use whatever fancy technology they have available to regenerate the damaged tissue you will be a completely different person like an amnesia sufferer or worse being like a newborn having to relearn everything.
