Help me! I have been trying to set this up for months now (on and off work when I feel like it), and this bullshit won't connect. I can connect to the internet, but it seems as though they don't want me to see my printer. I create a small home/office network, and it still doesn't work. I ran the setup on both computers, the one directly connected to the router and my wireless PC. Someone has to know why this is happening. I had the printer setup on this computer before I reformatted and have yet to get it back up and running.

HELP.

Make sure file and printer sharing is turned on.

Go to network places, view network connections then right click on LAN and make sure file and printer sharing is turned on.

Its been on since the day I reformatted. Plus, I made sure 100 times to check if it was on..

Was it? Of course it was!

I am getting this weird thing about the home office not allowing me to view it or something. It said that I don't have access and to talk to the main computer gateway about access.

Sure you are using administrator accounts on both computers?

I don't know much about wireless printers, i thought they worked on infra-red rather than a internet connection which sounds weird to me, but i may be very far behind. Unless you just meant your printer won't print when you send messages from the computer with the router?

so you have a print server connected to your printer correct?

Yes.

Its not a print server. You are able to share a printer over your internet connection with Windows. It allows for file sharing and the like along with sharing a printer. I had it set up before, but now it will not set up at all.

ive seen this problem several times.
main things i noticed when they wouldnt work is

the workgroup is different on both computers

that one of the computers are running illegal version of windows(ive seen illegal versions work as well), either due to something ms has done, or something that was removed from it.

i also remeber in one case where the computer that was sharing the printer had some sort setting that was different than normal

what the extact setting its suposed to be i cant remeber but it had to do with a registry entry and that if you type ipconfig /all into the command prompt the setting name was node type.
