Does anyone know about this problem ? It's always the same thing when i change from one resolution to another (and refresh frequency) .. .. for example, with half life 1's menu that cant be displayed in 1280x1024 pixels,.

When i switch from and to the gameplay (wich is the same resolution as my desktop, 1280x1024x75hz... then the thing always locks up and restarts, i've never had that with my nvidia cards.. anyone else have this problem with a radeon ?

shouldent be, ive run a 9800pro stable with a 2X0W psu. id say he might have left some old drivers in or something. erase drivers, reinstall.

hmmm cant tell by your typing but did you mean 250 W? it needs at least a 350 W

i meant 200-something W psu. it might be. cosmic, what processor do you have?

I have a p4 3 ghz..

It runs mostly stable, when I have games that can run entirely on 1280x1024@75hz (for my flatscreen).. (with fixed refreshrates tables).... then i will not easily have this problem (except if i'm tampering too much with fraps and switching tasks 'etc...

its as if the card doesn't like to switch modes and api's too much.. if i play games like trackmania and then ut2004 , then another game it would reboot my system eventually...

so to sum up my specs:

chieftec case with 380w power suppy
asus p4c800 deluxe
1 gb apacer ram
my 9800pro is a sapphire
i use onboard audio from the mobo and a sata disc
