Why The Hell Is Counter Strike Source Gone Soo Laggy All Of A Sudden!

CS:S was working fine for about 2 weeks
but then when i closed steam (in the toolbar bottom left corner of screen) because it asked me to refresh account but wouldnt accept my password, (im pretty sure it was after this) now when i connect to any server it is so laggy i cant even see who shot me for about 5 seconds after they shot me from a metre away
i got 512/128mbkbps ADSL bigpond
Windows XP
760mb ddr ram
2.53 ghz P4
64mb intel integrated extreme graphics

ALSO if anyone knows how to fix the memory could not be read error at loading screen ay hl2 deathmatch i think i might need to get a better graphics card if u know how to fix please post

Disable your firewall and see if it's the cause. Maybe you just set up a new firewall on your system?

Put CS priority on "Below Normal", Steam, on "Low".

check your steam internet settings. A few people have had this trouble thanks to recent updates, and basically steam resets the net connection speed to 56k or 28.8k. See if that's the cause and get back to me.

I have that wired laggin problem too. but its not all the time only sumtimes my ping would be low and still id lagg. STRAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGEEEEEE
