Didn't they say they weren't remaking HL:S to the point they're doing CS:S to? They said it would take too long and be too much work to redo it all.

They've (Valve, or more precisely, Gabe) already said that Half-Life: Source will only be as direct port - it will have the same models and everything. The only difference will be in the physics.

We would only see an updated Half-Life if a mod team took it upon themselves to recreate it.

Just to expand on that a bit. They plan to reinvigorate the original game by the addition of physics, the new shaders, enhanced lighting and other more subtle improvements. There isn't as much work being done on it as CS:S, which means a minimal amount of new textures and models.

I assume they plan to use some models from HL2 in HL:S, or perhaps re-use or use the HD ones. I say this because while I can't see exactly, in the comparison screenshot I have it looks like the w_model of the crossbow is different.

well... to some extent it does not bother me that much if the models and textures are not that improved. maybe it would take away from the original feeling of the game? i just started my 23th game of half-life (no shit, been playing nonstop since day one ) and i personally don't see THAT much room for improvement. buildings could be more rounded out, and little detail objects like mugs and barrels could get a facelift, that's all really.

AS far as I know, there is only screens for Counter-Strike: Source. Not for HL:S.

No room for improvement? Man, it was good in it's day, but certainly they could upgrade some textures to go along iwth the new physics and shaders!

HLMP was my favorite MP game of all time. Right up there with Duke3D. I hope to hell I can continue that with HL2:MP. Fond memories of sniping friends with the crossbow in the level with the buildings, open helipad, and blast shelter, where you could call in an airstrike! (What the hell was that called?!?!?).

Well, anyway... I dont' remember what I'm doing here....

The only screens from HL:Source are from the leak. And almost nothing graphics wise will be improved on except for the water and physics, plus possibly raggdolls?
