Why valve is't fixing steam right now..

This is just MY own opinion..

Valve did release Steam after planes.. but the overload was not something they had in mind.
Currently Steam is task nr 2 at valve.. guess what? hl2 is task nr 1..

I think valve is't touching steam before they have the Gold on hl2.

This is cause hl2 is maby the biggest deal\release ever!
Cause ATI is releasing their new radeon with hl2 on 30 sept..

When HL2 has a gold, steam will be up and run better than it did at the end of the steam beta test..
All the bugs would be gone within a week or two and everyone will love it..

But right now.. please stop spamming about your problem, steam suck, what could be different, etc...

HL2 and Steam have the same priority, as they depend on each other.

Steam continues to get better each and every day since the official release last week. Also I noticed on the Steam monitor stating that it was updating steam files (the Steam Platform) yesterday. Valve is working on both Steam and HL2 at the same time because, like tedge stated, they depend on each other.

The Half-Life 2 team and the Steam 2 are different. Valve is aware of the problems of Steam but most of them are caused by overloaded content servers which is easing off but not something they can fix straight away.

The increased available bandwidth is the reason why some people have seen improvements in the past few days.

they certainly are working very hard on both steam and hl2.
